About Jaime Eckert, MSN, APRN, PMHCNS-BC
I am a board-certified psychiatric/mental health clinical nurse specialist specializing in psychiatric medication management, counseling, and consultation services for adults ages 18 and over.
My commitment to mental health care began after graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2003 with a bachelors degree in psychology, where I was inducted into the Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology in 2002.
My Background
I began my career in mental health as a residential program counselor for Advocates, Inc., a non-profit human services agency in eastern Massachusetts supporting adults living with chronic and severe mental illnesses. I later worked as an inpatient nurse at Emerson Hospitals Behavioral Health Unit, providing direct care for patients with serious mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use disorders.
I earned my masters degree in adult psychiatric/mental health nursing from the University of Massachusetts Worcester Graduate School of Nursing in 2008, where I was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing in 2007. I became a board-certified advanced practice nurse through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and began practicing as a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist in 2009.
Clinical Experience
Since beginning my practice, I have worked across a range of care settings:
Northeastern University Health and Counseling Services - medication management for college students and staff
Bay Cove Human Services Michael J. Gill Mental Health and Wellness Clinic (Jamaica Plain, MA) - care for chronically mentally ill patients with co-occurring substance use disorders
Advocates Community Counseling Services (Marlborough and Framingham) - outpatient behavioral health and Psychiatric Emergency Services
LifeStance Health (formerly Commonwealth Psychology Associates) - outpatient medication management in Newton and Boston
Since 2018, I have been providing telemedicine services, making quality psychiatric care accessible to patients throughout Massachusetts from the comfort of their homes.
My Approach to Care
I believe that effective psychiatric treatment starts with truly listening. Every patient brings a unique history, and I take the time to understand yours before recommending any course of treatment. My goal is to work with you as a partner in your mental health journey - not simply prescribe medication, but help you understand your options and feel confident in your care plan.
